Guest Lecture by Professor Saras Sarasvathy

Professor Saras Sarasvathy from Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, will be awarded an honorary doctorate at Aalborg University at the Annual Celebration on April 21. During her visit at Aalborg University, she will give a lecture titled “Effectuation – Elements of Entrepreneurial Expertise”.

Professor Saras Sarasvathy is a leading scholar in the world within the area of entrepreneurship, cognitive science and behavioural economics. Named one of the Top 18 Entrepreneurship Professors by Fortune Small Business magazine, Sarasvathy is a leading scholar on the cognitive basis for high-performance entrepreneurship.

In 2022, Sarasvathy received the Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research, which is added to several other awards received in the past on what she has labelled effectuation: the principles followed by expert entrepreneurs.

According to Professor Saras Sarasvathy, effectuation is a way of thinking and decision-making that is based on the idea that entrepreneurs create their future by taking action and making things happen.

The guest lecture is aimed at interested faculty and students.
